José Banus first built the Marina as a place for the world´s aristocrats to come and play, relax and enjoy the sunshine, and Puerto José Banus first started attracting rich visitors in the 1960´s. Nueva Andalucia is situated just half a kilometre from Puerto Banus and offers more restaurants, a great Saturday market, and some of the most famous golf courses in the area. Golf Valley, aptly named, takes in the courses at Las Brisas, Los Naranjos, Aloha Golf and La Dama de Noche, and sports enthusiasts can also find plenty of things to keep them busy on the local beaches, including skiing, kite surfing, parasailing and jet skiing.
If you are looking for some fun on the beach, chill out on one of the two beaches in Puerto Banus either side of the marina. Summer events include live DJ´s and beach parties and a host of singers and dancers at the beach clubs.
