Italian Restaurants in Puerto Banus and Marbella
Whether you fancy home made pasta, pizza or some of the most delicious meat and fish dishes infused with fresh Italian herbs and spices, you will be spoilt for choice when it comes to great Italian restaurants in Marbella.
One highly recommended Italian restaurant chain in Marbella isPasta da Bruno, run by husband and wife team, Giuseppina and Bruno Filippone whose first restaurant opened in C/Ricardo Soriano, Marbella around 20 years ago. There are now Pasta da Bruno restaurants in Marbella (2), Puerto Cabopino (1), San Pedro (1) and the newest kid on the block is the Mijas Road restaurant.
Da Bruno has become synonymous with excellent food and service in a relaxed atmosphere, and many traditional dishes are served alongside their famous steaks, fish and fresh pasta dishes.
Recommended dishes include Spaghetti Vongole (with fresh seafood), the Veal Escalope with Marsala wine, Tournedos Rossinni and fresh mussels. Sole Meuniere with lemon and fresh herbs and the ravioli stuffed with pumpkin are also a huge hit. Vegetables included sauteé potatoes and wilted spinach, courgettes and mange tout. If you still have room for some more, finish off with the home made lemon or chocolate mousse .. delicious.
The Pannacotta with Raspberry Coulis is also a house speciality- a delicious creation of subtle vanilla mousse combined with a fresh fruit sauce reduced with sugar. Pasta Da Bruno enjoys incredible success because of first class food, excellent service and close attention from the owners.
The Da Bruno restaurant group began operating in Marbella in 1994 with the launch of Pasta Da Bruno this was followed by the opening of Da Bruno a Casa (1999), Da Bruno a Cabopino (2001), Da Bruno sul Mare (2002), Da Bruno a San Pedro (2005) and recently Da Bruno Cabopino Take Away and Delicatessen (2008).
House specialities are always available plus specials of the day. One of the best dishes we tried was the Foie Gras with apple and honey, veal carpaccio and an incredible porterhouse steak with hollandaise sauce.
